When to the CBD area with 3 photography hobbyist friends, it was a clear and cloudless night due to the raining weather just 5 hours before we started our night shoot. This is also my first time trying out a Neutral Density filter (result on the last picture). Well, can say this time i was quite satisfied with the results as the pictures turn out to be very near to what i had in mind initially.<br />

Actually, it has been in my living room for about 3 weeks already. I have been obsessed about gaming on my PS3 these past few weeks until my wife starts to say that i've been poisoned by gaming. Ha, can't blame her as i've been telling her too much about the adventure i've had in the gaming world.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">Taipei 101, also known as Taipei Financial Center is a landmark skyscraper located in Xinyi District, Taipei, Taiwan. It has a ground to highest achitectural structure height of 509.2 metres. This photo is taken at a hiking site near Taipei 101 known as "Elephant Mountain" which is one of the "Mountains of the four beast". Elephant mountain is a favourite location among photography enthusiast, you can see many photographers there especially during sunset looking towards Taipei 101.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">This is a view from the outdoor observatory at the 91st floor of Taipei 101. Could only get to view this direction because all other 3 directions are closed for entry due to strong wind but anyway it was a great experience standing 391.8 meters above ground and enjoying the wind pushing you around. Also, taking the passenger lift up was amazing, imagine 5th floor to 89 floor in 37 seconds only.<br />

During my time there, the weather was not in favor due to Typhoon Lupit nearing the shores of Taiwan.<br />

Millenia Tower is a tower with a height of 218 metres and 41 stories at Marina Centre in Singapore. The building is located in Millenia Singapore, and is the centrepiece of the deveploment. This photo was taken in September 2009 during the formula one race event. <br />

"Jurong Falls" is the world's tallest man-made waterfall in an aviary at 30 metres high. It is located in the 'African Waterfall Aviary' at Jurong Bird Park (Singapore). When i was taking this photograph of the waterfall, i've faced difficulty having a good shot because of the many people in the area moving around. During my whole trip there, this is the only time that i've used my tripod. The rest of the time was busy snapping photos on the birds. So i guess if you have no intention of snapping a pictures of the waterfall then you can leave your tripod at home as i really hate bringing tripod around.<br />

This is the second time Singapore is hosting the Formula One night race but its my first time at the race. I won a ticket to view the practice session this year. I was at 'Turn 23' last turn before pit straight. Turn 23 seems a nice spot for photography, with views of the Singapore flyer right infront of me and if you go to the highest seat, you can clear the safety fence for a unblock shot at the racing cars. I was using a 70-200mm lens and later found out that 'hell' the range is not sufficient at 200mm, you would have to wait for the racing cars to get really close to your sitting area before pressing the shutter button and those guys driving the formula one cars are damn fast, i had a hard time focusing on them even in a practice session.<br />

Even the smallest eagles, like the Booted Eagle (which is comparable in size to a Common Buzzard or Red-tailed Hawk), have relatively longer and more evenly broad wings, and more direct, faster flight. Most eagles are larger than any other raptors apart from the vultures.<br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dreamkiller/3985914927/" title="203 by Kenny Thumb, on Flickr"target="_blank"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3567/3985914927_b956e83f3c_o.jpg" width="440" height="600" alt="203" /></a><br /><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dreamkiller/3986669340/" title="211 by Kenny Thumb, on Flickr"target="_blank"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3505/3986669340_4c391aff80_o.jpg" width="440" height="600" alt="211" /></a><br /><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dreamkiller/3986670766/" title="263 by Kenny Thumb, on Flickr"target="_blank"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2509/3986670766_bfdfbb70c8_o.jpg" width="676" height="450" alt="263" /></a><br /><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dreamkiller/3985916215/" title="283 by Kenny Thumb, on Flickr"target="_blank"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2609/3985916215_1e9ab8ba61_o.jpg" width="675" height="450" alt="283" /></a><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br /></div>Kenny Thamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01563215249070420862noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6119290628941184794.post-46577212911059979602009-09-30T15:58:00.010+08:002009-10-09T12:16:24.196+08:00Macaws<div style="text-align: justify;">Macaws are small to large, often colourful New World parrots. Of the many different Psittacidae (true parrots) genera. Macaws are native to Mexico, Central America, South America, and formerly the Caribbean. Most species are associated with forest, especially rainforest, but others prefer woodland or savannah-like habitats. Large, dark (usually black) beaks, and relatively hairless, light coloured, medial facial (facial patch) areas distinguish macaws. Sometimes the facial patch is smaller in some species, and limited to a yellow patch around the eyes and a second patch near the base of the beak in the members of the genus Anodorhynchus, or Hyacinth Macaw. A macaw's facial feather pattern is as unique as a fingerprint.<br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dreamkiller/3985914213/" title="041 by Kenny Thumb, on Flickr"target="_blank"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3442/3985914213_f7b4f2ec0a_o.jpg" width="440" height="600" alt="041" /></a><br /><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dreamkiller/3985914593/" title="042 by Kenny Thumb, on Flickr"target="_blank"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3476/3985914593_e3647aa7a5_o.jpg" width="440" height="600" alt="042" /></a><br /><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dreamkiller/3986668638/" title="043 by Kenny Thumb, on Flickr"target="_blank"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2662/3986668638_372fd62485_o.jpg" width="440" height="600" alt="043" /></a><br /></div>Kenny Thamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01563215249070420862noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6119290628941184794.post-28647777029263461272009-09-30T13:31:00.023+08:002009-10-09T12:16:53.500+08:00Lories<div style="text-align: justify;">Lories and lorikeets are small to medium-sized arboreal parrots characterized by their specialized brush-tipped tongues for feeding on nectar and soft fruits. The species form a monophyletic group within the parrot family Psittacidae. Traditionally, they were considered one of the two subfamilies in that family (Loriinae), the other being the subfamily Psittacinae, but new insights show that it is placed in the middle of various other groups. To date, this issue has not been resolved scientifically. They are widely distributed throughout the Australasian region, including south-eastern Asia, Polynesia, Papua New Guinea and Australia, and the majority have very brightly colored plumage.<br /><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dreamkiller/3985915743/" title="024 by Kenny Thumb, on Flickr"target="_blank"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2640/3985915743_39ee641d66_o.jpg" width="675" height="450" alt="024" /></a><br /><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dreamkiller/3986670172/" title="223 by Kenny Thumb, on Flickr"target="_blank"><img src="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3531/3986670172_838cd58e4e_o.jpg" width="440" height="600" alt="223" /></a><br /><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dreamkiller/3986669524/" title="221 by Kenny Thumb, on Flickr"target="_blank"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2621/3986669524_2dc18c10da_o.jpg" width="440" height="600" alt="221" /></a><br /><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dreamkiller/3985916033/" title="229 by Kenny Thumb, on Flickr"target="_blank"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2494/3985916033_761e521c9d_o.jpg" width="440" height="600" alt="229" /></a><br /></div>Kenny Thamhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01563215249070420862noreply@blogger.com3
